Long-term Care Insurance Education a Must
I referenced an article on long-term care insurance in my March 27 blog (scroll down a bit). You may want to refresh your memory on that or give it a read if you didn't. I received a comment with a suggested site for long-term insurance education.
That comment leads to the LTC Insurance Shopper. A couple of other sites you may want to check are the National Long-term Care Resource Center and Long-term Care Insurance Buyer's Advocate. The main message these days is: long-term care insurance is a good thing. The newer policies tend to be better - and do your research before buying. Make sure it is not "nursing home insurance" but long-term care, so you can use it for in-home care and other services. Make sure you know what questions to ask. Ask them. Research these sites and research the company you buy from. But don't shy away from a good policy. It can give you options about your care as you age, and perhaps preserve your assets.
