I spent many years struggling to find the right products for my elder's needs. My mother-in-law hated slacks, but finding her washable dresses that didn't look like nightgowns was horribly hard. My mom had trouble getting her arthritic arms into many shirts. My dad wanted pants he could get down himself (and later aides could get down in a hurry). These and many other predicaments are memories that haven't faded with time.
Each year, around this time, I write a column about where to shop for inventive gizmos that help elders and for adaptable clothing. Most elders do not need more trinkets. They need and want useful items that make life easier. And many of the items can only be found online.
I'm gathering my favorite sites for shoppers who want to buy things for special need's folks for this year, and I thought I'd throw it out to readers. What are your favorite sites for adaptive clothing or helpful items to use with wheelchairs and walkers? You can email me or comment on the post. My email is right under my photo on the left.
