Many of us want to help our friends in need, but don't know what to do. So we don't. We sit there, wringing our hands and saying, gee, I wish I could help but I don't know how. There's a book that tells you how. It's titled Because You Care and is a joy to hold and read. Written by Kathryn Kilpartrick and Joanna Chernauskas, the book is beautiful, yet simple - exactly the image one would want for the subject matter. Because You Care is packed with simple ideas that can take a load off a caregiving friend. Things you may not think of on your own, because of their very simplicity. From helping with food, to donating your expertise, to attending to communication needs, Because You Care will make you wonder why you didn't think of some of these things yourself. Kilpatrick is a health care professional with decades of experience. (She has personal, family caregiving in her background, as well.) Both Kilpatrick and Chernauskas have hospice backgrounds. Kilpatrick's sites are packed with information and the opportunity to check out her other books, as well. I recommend a visit.
