Hospice Care Primer

I'm a firm believer in hospice care. I watched my dying parents, each of whom had been in severe pain, become comfortable under hospice care. What many people don't realize is that you shouldn't wait until the last days or even weeks to contact hospice. Talk to them early, when you have a loved one in end-of-life stages. They help not only the dying person but  the whole family. One of the best descriptions of the stages of hospice care was written by April Smith on the excellent Gilbert Guide Website (a permanent link for Gilbert Guide is on the right column of this blog).
