Alzheimer’s Disease Still Challenging to Diagnose
Tuesday, March 03, 2015
Dear Carol: Dad’s been diagnosed with dementia, probably of the Alzheimer’s type. As a diagnosis, this seems sort of fuzzy to me, but that’s all that the doctor will say. Also, my family and I are trying to figure out what stage Dad is in. He seems quite good on some days and then he takes a slide downward the next so he’s extremely unpredictable. I’ve asked the doctor about the stages of Alzheimer’s and he just says that they aren’t necessarily concrete. Should we find another doctor? - Steve
